Terms of service

Last updated 24 October 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Maxset when you use the Maxset website (www.maxset.app) and the Maxset app (app.maxset.app, and the iPhone app when it launches). By using Maxset, you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains what happens to your data.

What Maxset is

Maxset is a workout log. You log your sets, and Maxset suggests your next weight and tells you why. It also gives you a plan and an AI coach you can ask about your training.

Maxset gives general training guidance. It isn’t medical advice, and it isn’t a medical device or a replacement for a doctor, physiotherapist or dietitian. Every weight Maxset shows is a suggestion. You decide what you lift.

The AI coach’s answers are written by an AI model (Anthropic’s Claude). They can be wrong or incomplete, so use your own judgement and ask a professional about anything to do with your health.

Train safely

Who can use Maxset

Maxset is for adults. You must be at least 16 to use it. If you’re 16 or 17, use it with a parent, guardian or coach, and get the all-clear first.

One log is for one person. If two people share a log, the suggestions will be wrong for both of them.

Free and paid

Logging your workouts and keeping your history is free, with no ads.

The plan and the coach will be a paid subscription. It isn’t on sale yet, and there’s no free trial. When it goes on sale, you’ll see the price, what you get, how it renews, how to cancel and how refunds work before you pay. Payments in the iPhone app will go through Apple, under Apple’s terms.

Your data

Your training data is yours. We don’t claim ownership of your workouts, notes or anything else you add. We only use it to run Maxset for you, as our privacy policy explains, and we never sell it.

You can export or delete your data at any time. If you turn on sync, keep your sync code private, because anyone who has it can open your synced data. It’s also worth keeping your own backup of anything you’d hate to lose.

Fair use

Please don’t:

Maxset’s name, logo, design and software belong to us. You may use the app for your own training.

Our limits

No promise of results. How much stronger you get depends on your sleep, food, stress and consistency. Maxset’s estimates are estimates, not promises.

No promise that it never breaks. We work to keep Maxset running and your data safe, but we can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors. Your training is saved on your device, so an outage doesn’t stop you logging.

Liability. As far as the law allows, we aren’t responsible for losses we couldn’t reasonably have foreseen, or for injuries that come from how you train. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn’t let us exclude. Nothing here takes away your rights as a consumer under the law where you live.

Stopping

You can stop using Maxset at any time, and delete your data in Settings or by emailing us. We may suspend or stop access for anyone who breaks these terms. If we ever close Maxset, we’ll give you notice and a way to export your data first.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. If the changes are big, we’ll tell you in the app before they take effect. Logging and your history will stay free, whatever else changes.

The law that applies

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you live in the EU or elsewhere, you also keep the protection of the consumer laws where you live, and you can bring a claim in your local courts.
